RESEARCH

The research at the museum contributes to historically and contemporary relevant knowledge about technology, science, industry and medicine. It is closely linked to the museum's collections and learning activities.

Much of the research takes place across various disciplines. The museum's Lab was established in 2014 to further develop the interaction between research, exhibition-making and collections management, and as a place to gather different skills.

The museum is approved as a research organization by the Research Council. We participate in research projects together with various institutions nationally and internationally. See links on the right of this page.

In autumn 2021, the museum adopted a new research plan for the period 2021-2026. It contains, among other things, an overview of the museum's prioritized research areas.

From 2021, research results from the museum's staff will be registered in the national database Cristin (Current Research Information System in Norway).
