"Several of our students are vulnerable when it comes to understanding information and using digital platforms"
Friday 20 March
Finally Friday, a week of home office in Adult Education!
What an activity among teachers, publishers, Facebook pages with teaching plans etc. All you have to do is take off your hat! Several of our students are vulnerable when it comes to understanding information and using digital platforms. Since we see that many students have Whats App, some teachers make arrangements to use this as a communication tool with the weakest students.
Other teachers have also thought that there are more people who are not allowed to use their Norwegian language now. So today the possibility was worked out for pupils to have digital language friends, across our classes. So that better students can talk to weaker students via chat on facetime, whatsApp, skype, Teams etc.
Monday 23 March
New week, new possibilities. What a circus to have classes on Teams. Today we got five and two of them were new from last week. One joined the meeting via WhatsApp phone. This participant tried to join our Team's meeting via his phone, he could not log in, even with the help of his son. He finally gave up. We got to talk through what tasks they were to do this week, and information.
There is great humor in the group. Some are at work during the day while others have been laid off.
Saturday 28 March:
Soon Easter... hooray!! Here I work outside in the Steiner School's school garden in Øverland. It is possible to prune trees and guide students with a computer login, even on a Saturday.
