Experience an inspiring school visit! At The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology, guide your students through exciting educational activities or join one of our teacher training workshops.

Educational programs are included in the entrance fee (25,- per student for primary school, 30,- per student for VGS) and must be booked in advance. Separate prices apply for teachers, students and school classes. You are welcome to visit the exhibitions both before and after the lessons, or explore the museum without booking a program.

The spray can 100 years

The spray can is turning 100, and on this occasion we invite schools to explore the history of the spray can and its significance for street art and industry through a tour, conversation and a creative workshop. The offer is free for schools, and admission is included.

Free research square

On September 18, The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology and UiO invite students and teachers to a research square. Participate in experiments and explore wonders about the body, health and research. Especially recommended for 7th grade and up.

Free teacher's evening

Teachers from 5th grade to high school are invited to a teacher's evening with professional enrichment, dinner and practical activities. The evening provides an introduction to our latest exhibitions, teaching offerings and talent center within science.

Teaching plan

Our teaching offers cover competence targets in science, mathematics, social studies, Norwegian, arts and crafts, history and technology. Book directly via the booking button in the scheme.

Practical information

We offer lessons from Tuesday to Friday. You can book a maximum of one teaching program per day.

Attendance is required no later than 10 minutes before the lesson starts. The class will be shortened or may be canceled if you arrive late. In case of no-show without cancellation 7 days in advance, a fee of NOK 500 will be invoiced.

If you want to visit the museum without a teaching programme, just turn up when the museum is open. Advance reservation is not required.

What happens on arrival?

One of the teachers in the group approaches the reception. We will then register that you have arrived and you will be allocated a cloakroom space and possibly cabinet for locking up valuables.

Arrive at the museum no later than 10 minutes before the start of the program. Let us know if you will be delayed by phone. 22 79 60 00. If you arrive late, the learning offer may be shortened or cancelled.

What kind of payment methods do you have?

Kindergartens and schools can pay by cash/card on arrival or receive an invoice. For invoices, you must include the requisition or resource number and invoice address.

Order tickets

Do we have access to the entire museum?

Yes! Access to the museum's exhibitions is included in the ticket for school visits. You are most welcome to explore the exhibitions both before and after the lessons.

Where can we have a lunch break?

You can eat the packed lunch in different places; in the cafe, at the reception and outside the museum entrance. It is not allowed to eat or drink in the exhibitions.

What rules apply to school visits?

At The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology the same rules apply as at school/kindergarten. We must be role models for each other, be kind to each other and use the exhibitions within your means, do not run. NOTE: Anything behind barriers should not be touched. This way we all have fun and contribute to a good learning experience. If you decide that your group can visit the museum shop, a teacher must be present as long as any of the children are there.

Selected 6th graders get the opportunity to meet our ministers, ask questions about important social topics and give the minister a small challenge.

Talent Centre for Gifted Students in STEM

The Talent Centre is an interdisciplinary offering for students in grades 5 to 10. The teaching is based on science subjects and is adapted to students with great learning potential.
