Birth cafe

On Mother's Day, the National Medical Museum invites you to the Birth Café – a unique opportunity to share your experiences with birth. Together we explore what the birth culture in Norway is like, and how it can be even better.

Norway is one of the safest countries in the world to give birth, but that doesn't mean everything is perfect. How can we improve prenatal care? To find answers, we need to hear from both parents and grandparents. You are the ones who have valuable experiences.

Birth Café is a place for open conversations where we share stories without prejudice and learn from each other. The conversations take place in small groups around the café tables, and the event is open to everyone. Together we work to create an even better birth culture!

The event is led by staff at the National Medical Museum, in collaboration with Senior Consultant Liv Ellingsen from the Obstetrics Department at Rikshospitalet, Oslo University Hospital, and host of the podcast series Kvinnehelsepodden.
