Reindeer herding and drones
A revolution?
Digital tools have long been used in Sami reindeer husbandry, but the use of drones is fairly new. How are drones making a difference and why are some talking about drones as a technological revolution?
Professor of social anthropology, Marianne Lien, has conducted research among reindeer herders in Finnmark, and has, among other things, investigated how digitization and drones change the relationship between animals, people and the landscape in which they move.
