Welcome to The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology , Oslo's funnest museum for children and adults! Here you will find tips and practical information for visiting the museum.

Feel free to buy tickets in advance to avoid queuing. We have many historical objects and interactive installations, and there is a lot to do for both children and adults.

Ruter offers group discounts on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. You can bring up to four children under the age of 18 for free. Children under the age of 6 are not included in the number - they always travel for free.

It is not allowed to bring food or drinks into the exhibitions, but you are welcome to enjoy a packed lunch or a good lunch in the Open Bakery . After your visit, you can look for fun gifts in the museum shop, or take a walk along the beautiful Akerselva River.

Parking for cars and electric cars

There is free parking for museum visitors. The museum has five charging stations for electric cars. In addition, there are 4 municipal charging stations for electric cars in the parking area by the museum.

Subway and tram

Option 1: Tram line 12 or 15 Kjelsås from Jernbanetorget to Kjelsåsalléen

Option 2: Subway to Storo, then tram line 12 or 15 Kjelsås

From Kjelsåsalléen it only takes 10 minutes on foot. Follow Kjelsåsveien down until you see the museum on the right side of the road

Bus and train

Bus from Jernbanetorget to Kjelsås station (25 min):

  • Line 25 Majorstuen/Haugerud

Train from Oslo S to Kjelsås station (15min)

Bicycle

You will find bicycle racks for visitors in front of the main entrance to the museum.

The hiking trail up along Akerselva is worth the trip in itself, all year round. In winter, boots are recommended here, as it quickly becomes icy in the damp river landscape.
