The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology announces a master scholarship of 20,000,- for those who want to write a master's thesis on the museum's fields of study.

Several disciplines are relevant, including technology and science history, health and medicine history, museumology and preservation, as well as engineering and design studies. It is expected to use the museum's collections, archives or exhibitions actively in the master's thesis. The faculty of the museum can help with the choice of theme and guidance. The scholarship recipient will have access to the workplace in the museum's lab and will be part of a larger professional environment.

It must contain a short project outline, CV with transcript and information about the timetable and supervision for the master's thesis, as well as a recommendation from the supervisor.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be admitted to a master's program at a Norwegian university or college.

About the application

In the assessments of the applications, we emphasize professional relevance for the museum, quality and feasibility of the project.

The first half of the scholarship is paid upon award, the second half upon completion of the master's degree. The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology wishes to present the scholarship recipient and the project on the museum's website and in social media upon award and during the work.

After completing the master's, the scholarship recipient must write a short summary for publication on the museum's website. The master's thesis must be completed within a year and a half after the scholarship award.
