Highlights of the year
- On 26 January, we opened the exhibition ENERGY in the climate crisis. It is a whopping 700 square meters. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through Norwegian energy history from the past, present and into the future. There have been many activities and debates related to the topic during the period.
- Many of the activities were linked to the topic of energy. has become an important arena for discussions about energy and sustainability. Central themes have been the oil fund, nuclear power and artificial intelligence, and activities such as building solar cell chargers
- The museum was recertified as an Environmental Lighthouse as part of our work for a more sustainable operation.
- During the year we conducted 48 rental events among the highlights were the biogas conference with 200 participants each day over two days.
- Together with the Tekna Oslo department, we have provided over 4,000 students free transport, entrance and teaching at the museum. This strengthens the museum's availability for school students.
- The Friends Association has given a gift a restored police motorcycle, BMW K75RT, which is now shown in the exhibition Transport and Transport.
- In collaboration with Tekna, we offered free tickets to the Grorud and Søndre Nordstrand district, and over 2500 took advantage of the offer this summer. The initiative continues in 2025. September 22, Tekna gave away 1000 free tickets to residents of Oslo East.
- The museum's listed coastal radio station, Bergen Radio on the Rundeman got a new exterior paint area carried out in accordance with national conservation regulations, with support from Bergen municipality.
- Think Tech Camp was organized for the ninth time and gathered 200 technology -interested girls between the ages of 13 and 19 for an inspiring and educational day. The Digitization Minister visited the event.
- The project Kodkunst with KI, supported by the Sparebankstiftelsen DNB with NOK 360,000, develops a chatbot that provides school students insight into artificial intelligence and programming.
- This summer we had a week's stand with electric promo bike on Visit Oslo, where we showed fun experiments and met many tourists. The following week we cycled around the capital with the skeleton James Bone in the cash register.
- In collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and the Pharmaceutical Institute at UiO, we arranged the research square during the Research Days this fall. School students and families learned about brain and heart research, diet, production of prosthetics and how sustainability and health are interconnected.
- The Museums and Industry projects: Long Histories of Collaboration (Mailhoc) and sustainable energy curators (BEN) held a joint seminar at the museum.
- In the autumn holidays came the robots! Visitors could participate in the tour where the robots Trallfa, Modulus, Oda and Paro were activated, along with our own Isaac, bit: Bit with Ki camera and a robot arm. In addition, we had activities such as Lego Spike, Open Robotlab and the Lego mission.
- New of the year was the series asks a minister. Each minister each got their day at the museum. Pupils from Korsvoll, Holmen and Disen school asked questions. This year we were visited by the Minister of Health and Care, the Minister of Transport and the Minister of Energy. We will continue the series next year.
- The Halloween edition of late, the museum's latest event in the series for adults over 18 years. The evening offered spiritism, spirit photographs and classic horror films, as well as costume and good atmosphere.
- Our largest environmental measures have been the installation of three new ventilation systems and a strong heat pump. We also replaced 634 old luminaires with 546 new LED fixtures.
- You can again feel the claustrophobia, little Klaus is open again.
- We opened the exhibition models and thumbnails, which show old and new models on different scales. The audience gets to experience everything from imaginative thumbnails, medicine models and a gigantic dollhouse that the children can play in.
- With the support of Statkraft and the Sparebankstiftelsen DNB, the preliminary project "New water wheels" is underway, and the construction itself starts in March 2025.
- Equinor has allocated NOK 1.7 million for planning a toddler area at the museum. This will give the youngest an exciting arena for learning and exploration.
- Tekno Kafé has terminated the agreement with the museum after 18 years of lease. The museum has entered into a new agreement with Open Bakery.
