Personal data that is stored
In the collections and associated documentation, NTM stores the following personal data:
- People with a relationship to the museum object such as donors, former owners, users, producers or others connected to the history of the museum object.
- The museum's historical archives include personal information related to the relevant business, such as overviews of employees, employers, and incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- The museum's photo archives include photographs of named people taken in public and private contexts.
- The museum's medical collections include personal information related to patients and healthcare personnel in the Norwegian Health Service.
Purpose of the processing
The museum collects and stores the information for museum and archival purposes in the public interest.
The basis for the treatment
The information is archived to document historical development in line with the museum's purpose.
Collection of personal data
The museum collects personal data when accepting museum objects or archives for the collections and in the ongoing management of the museum's existing collection. The information is collected from various private and public agencies.
Disclosure of information to third parties
Personal information related to the museum's collections is disclosed in accordance with the Archives Act and other applicable legislation. The museum follows established procedures for assessing access to personal information in the archives and collections.
Deletion of personal data
Please note that you can request access to and transfer of your personal data, as well as, under certain conditions, correction or deletion of information.
Rights of the data subject
We process your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act and applicable regulations. You can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority about processing in violation of the rules.
Information security
We secure personal information by both physical and virtual access and access control of our data, as well as by encrypting sensitive parts of the information provided. Data processing agreements have been entered into with our suppliers of the museum's catalog systems.
