The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology will open a new exhibition in the spring of 2027 about the breweries in Christiania and the transformation of beer production in the period 1840–1890. The goal was to develop a beer suitable for industrial mass production, with a recognizable taste and a uniform appearance.
This "modern beer" should be able to be transported to the other side of the world and still taste like it did in Christiania. The exhibition is based on the archive and collections of the breweries in Christiania from the period around 1840–1900. More information to come.
