What's it like to make music with your eyes? Or sing in a vocal group with a joystick or switches? This weekend, everyone who visits the museum can get experience with assistive technology.
It will be possible to test eye control, switch control and graphical character support – and experience how technology can open new avenues for communication, creativity and community.
Ada uses switches and Morse code as a form of communication and will launch a book about herself and her sister. Milosh is a composer and will show examples of his own music productions. SKUG from the Cultural School in Tromsø will demonstrate computer-based instruments that can be played with eyes, switches and sensors. Chris Ball from England will combine music, technology and performing arts, and there will be a concert with a band from Stig School.
In addition to trying out the technology, there will be a great opportunity to chat with assistive technology companies and people who use alternative and augmentative communication (ASK). They will be presenting learning materials, games, competitions, music experiences and much more!
The event is a collaboration between Elevkanalen-TV 2 Skole, Digjobb, the SKUG center at the Cultural School in Troms (SKUG), Aurora Verksted, Stig School - and several leading assistive technology companies.
