The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology 's archives

The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology has an extensive collection of private archives by companies, company managers, engineers and scientists.

Among our largest company archives are the archives of Aker's Mechanical Workshop, Hjula Weavery and Ringnes Brewery.

In addition to the private archives The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology has an extensive brochure archive, called the "industrial history archive", which contains advertising material and the like from a number of Norwegian and international industrial companies.

The archives are available to anyone who wishes by visiting our library . Several of the archives are also registered in the Archives portal .

Archives Day

Archives Day is an international event held on the second Saturday in November each year. Then all visitors get a taste of what can be found of different types of material in our museum library. The public will also get information about what other archives the museum has, as well as access to the industrial history archive, books and journals. Read more about Archives Day on ABMU's website. Information about the next Archives Day will also be posted here as the day approaches.
