LIFE AND DEATH
- ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Life and death
is the title of the National Medical Museum's new permanent exhibition, which can now be experienced at The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology .
Project manager Ellen Lange wants the exhibition to inspire people to ask questions about what medicine and health are - and what it can and should be.
New entrance to the medical rooms
With Life and Death, The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology is renewing large parts of its exhibition offering. This exhibition will open up new opportunities to get to know the medical exhibitions at the museum.
- The exhibition should act as a kind of "kick-off" to arouse curiosity about medicine and health before, now and in the future. It will hopefully inspire to explore the more pointed exhibitions, God Bedring, Invisible World and In the blood , Ellen Lange wants.
The museum's collections
The exhibition is based on the museum's collections of tangible and intangible cultural heritage from the field of medicine and health in Norway. Most of it has been collected during the last two hundred years.
-Through a number of objects and photographs, works of art and interactive installations, the exhibition will highlight different voices, positions, practices and perspectives - both nationally and internationally, says Lange.
Engagement
When the museum now thematizes medicine and health through "Life and death", it is done with the aim of touching and being touched.
- We want to give our visitors a good and strong experience that hits them in the stomach, head and heart. The hope is that they will carry it with them for a long time. We will also make it possible for the users to influence and influence us, that is the exhibition and the museum, in that we can take in their perspective and input and thus be in constant development, she says enthusiastically.
