Inherit
LIFE AND DEATH
What defines what we are?
Some traits, diseases and behaviors are inherited through our DNA. Some of it is due to the environment we grow up in, but most of it is a mixture of both. In recent decades, scientific and technological advances have made it possible to examine our genetic material down to the smallest detail.
We can even edit the legacy material. But should we? The more we know and can do, the more we are reminded that DNA is only one piece of the puzzle. DNA makes proteins which make cells which make organs which make bodies which ultimately make our society. Together, these factors define who we are, and who we can become.
