The exhibition Life and death
TREATMENT
Many diseases that used to mean certain death can now be treated. In the 1930s, antibiotics led to a breakthrough in saving the lives of patients with infections.
In contrast, various treatments can lead to harmful side effects. Even if you are healthy from the original illness, you may struggle with health problems from the treatment.
Some forms of treatment are also so expensive that not everyone can get them.
How should one decide who should receive which treatment? And what do terms such as overtreatment or mistreatment mean?
